When I was asked to write about the time I spent with Mamas Who Run with the Wolves, I felt a warm feeling in my chest as memories of those moments came back.
The time I spent there felt out of the ordinary — almost like a fairy tale, a different dimension. It was time completely dedicated to myself. A time and space where I could be free and truly be myself.
Through the training sessions I learned not to forget about myself. I realized how easily I had focused only on caring for my family and others, while forgetting to appreciate and care for my own body and soul. The experience helped me understand the value of self-appreciation and to prioritize my own well-being alongside caring for others.
Everything we did was centered on women and what a woman can do for herself. It helped me realize how much I had forgotten to think about what makes me happy, and how much I can do to feel better. I had been caught up in taking care of others and neglecting my own needs.
I also learned to do things for myself without feeling guilty. I discovered how important it is to dedicate time to myself and to do things that I truly love.
One of the most meaningful discoveries for me was how enjoyable and freeing it is to spend some time away from my family. I now see the benefits of taking time for myself — not only for my own well-being, but also for my family. When I take small breaks and return home fulfilled, I can be a more present and balanced mother. I also rediscovered how deeply nature helps me relax.
I especially appreciated that many sessions took place in nature and that the facilitators created such a safe and warm environment for all of us. They were always kind, supportive, gentle and helpful. The methods they used were wonderful and guided very professionally. While I enjoyed all of them, some touched my heart so deeply that I will carry them with me forever.
